Distribution is key to the Internet's robustness
The focus of my research is on protocols, data distribution and distributed computation as drivers for new services.
Research Topics
My current research interests are in Internet routing, cloud services federation and data protection. Concerning Internet routing, at this time, I am more specifically interested in routing scalability and restoration upon failures.
In the future, cloud services consumers will require redundancy in cloud service providers as well as the integration of multiple cloud services. This requires that cloud services be federated. Cloud services in a federation can be called using a single, well known API. The objective is to define such an API. This involves proposing a naming and addressing solution for cloud resources.
The success of cloud services relies on the ability to protect the data manipulated by the cloud. Protection of the data shared and stored in the cloud according to the privacy policies of the data owner(s) is primordial. This requires providing appropriate identity management, access control, trust delegation and data encyption solutions.
